I’m Kara, the founder of Kara Counts Bookkeeping – and I help business owners across Canada feel confident in their numbers again.

I started Kara Counts because I saw how many business owners felt overwhelmed, confused, or even embarrassed about their finances. You don’t need to figure it out alone.

I bring structure, clarity, and calm to your bookkeeping – without judgment, pressure, or complicated language.

I’ve built my experience working directly within growing businesses, giving me a strong understanding of what it actually looks like behind the scenes when things are fast-paced, complex, and constantly evolving.

I’ve worked with companies of varying sizes, supporting everything from day-to-day bookkeeping to more complex financial situations. My experience includes full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, and government remittances.

I also support businesses with intercompany transactions and multi-entity bookkeeping, ensuring accuracy across related companies. For clients operating in multiple provinces, I manage Canadian sales tax requirements, including HST, GST, and PST, helping you stay compliant no matter where you do business.

These experiences have reinforced something I bring to every client: clean, reliable financials aren’t just about compliance — they’re about clarity, control, and peace of mind.
